Dave, an heir to the Glover family sausage casing fortune, turned his back on a life of meat-based opulence to pursue his true love…..puppetry. However, the lack of knuckles on his left hand brought his career as a marionettist to an early end. For the next several years Dave worked as a shepherd. However, he was forced to leave the profession after a pair of Velcro gloves were discovered in his possession. One day while loitering outside of a local waffle house, Dave met Tom Terbrock, something of a local village idiot, with whom Dave struck up a friendship. After a very brief stint in Hannibal doing mornings under the name “Cooter and the Bear” Dave and Tom were hired by 97.1 FM talk. Despite embarrassingly low ratings and poor relationships within the building, Dave and Tom are inexplicably in their 8th year on the air. Dave has won several awards, including a three year run as the Missouri broadcaster of the year, which goes to show just how weak Missouri radio has become.
